Study Examines Youth, Gangs & Witness Intimidation

A recently published study by the National Center for Victims of Crime examines the phenomenon of witness intimidation by street gangs. The study titled “Snitches Get Stitches”: Youth, Gangs, and Witness Intimidation in Massachusetts analyzes both the critical factors that deter youth witnesses from reporting gang crimes and testifying against perpetrators, and the kinds of policies and programs that can encourage victim and witness cooperation.
